State Museum of Fine Arts A.S. Pushkin and the State Center for Contemporary Art announced the start of accepting applications for the Innovation 2020 Prize in the field of contemporary art. The opening of the nominees exhibition and the award ceremony will be held in Nizhny Novgorod on May 30–31.

The Innovation 2020 Prize will traditionally be awarded to Russian projects in 2019 in six categories: Project of the Year, Curator of the Year, Artist of the Year, Regional Project, New Generation, and Educational Project. Also awards will be presented in out-of-competition nominations: “New Generation”, “For Contribution to the Development of Contemporary Art” and “For Support of Contemporary Russian Art”.
Applications for the award of the prize are accepted on the site until February 16, 2020 inclusive. The international jury will form short lists of the applications submitted for the competition, which will include five projects in each nomination.
“Last year,“ Innovation ”was first held outside the capital, in Nizhny Novgorod. We would like to continue this practice and provide an opportunity for different cities to get access to cultural events of the highest, world level, ”said the director of the Pushkin Museum to them. The Innovation Prize was established in 2005 with the aim of supporting authors working in the field of contemporary art and attracting the attention of the general public. The award is held under the auspices and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
