As MK managed to find out, on September 11 at about 19.30 a fire alarm went off in the administrative building on Smolensky Boulevard. The staff of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the European Court and the Eurasian Economic Commission, which are located in this U-shaped building, were urgently evacuated.
Arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the fire was on the open balcony on the fourth floor – a wood floor of 10 square meters burned down.
The office of the Director of the Department of Management of the Eurasian Economic Commission, from which there is access to the unfortunate balcony, and other rooms were not affected. The burnt floor was finally extinguished by the firefighters. According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a cigarette butt, dropped by someone on top.
