The format of the school involves a literary and theatrical educational project, including lectures, master classes and readings of works. According to director Ksenia Nikitina, this is a new experience for both the theater and literature, since reading is characterized by the use of a dramatic work in the form of a play, rather than prose.
The project participants will be writers Narine Abgaryan, Ildar Abuzyarov, Valery Ayrapetyan, Maria Anufrieva, Alisa Ganieva, Mikhail Elizarov, Vadim Levental, Valery Popov, Alexander Prokopovich, German Sadulaev, Alexander Snegirev and Arslan Khasavov. At the master classes, they will analyze the classical texts for literary techniques and talk about the difficulties that novice authors may encounter.
The project involves free participation by pre-registration. The live broadcast of the meetings will be held in the public of the Anna Akhmatova Museum “VKontakte”, the project’s video archive will be published on the museum’s website.
The project of the Open Literary School is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Anna Akhmatova and the 30th anniversary of the poet's museum in the Fountain House, as well as the centenary of the House of Arts, which brought together young writers in the post-revolutionary years.
