Interplanetary station “New horizons” (New Horizons), which flew about the dwarf planet Pluto three years ago, took a picture of my next target object in the Kuiper belt Ultima Thule (2014 MU69). The picture was taken on August 16, exposure 29,967 seconds. The distance between the object and the spacecraft at the time of the shooting amounted to 172 million kilometers.
So far, the object is barely visible Ultima Thule: in the photo background stars 17 times brighter. However, the closer the spacecraft, it will become more distinct. The span of the station “New horizons” about MU69 2014 will be held four months later, on 1 January 2019.
