The 32nd Moscow International Book Fair will be held in the 75th pavilion of VDNH from September 4 to 8. This year, the space for children will be doubled.
The Moscow International Book Fair will traditionally present many book novelties, discussions and meetings with the main figures of Russian literature.
This year, the area for children will more than double. The program for publishers and artists of children's books has been developed in cooperation with the Bologna Children's Book Fair, and more than 20 publishers from the UK, China, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the USA and Japan will take part in it.
From September 4 to 8, more than 100 lectures, master classes and meetings with artists will be held for young readers. Theater expert "Workshop of Peter Fomenko" Anastasia Sergeeva will invite children and parents on a trip to the book "I want to know everything about the theater." Also, guests will enjoy performances from leading children's theaters and a large animation program from students of VGIK named after S. A. Gerasimov.
The main event of the literary forum will be the exhibition “Drawn Worlds: 1001 books from around the world”, assembled by one of the leading experts on children's books Grace Gotti. 15 of these books are published in Russia.
The events of the children's program will take place at once in three venues: the main children's stage, the small children's stage and the space for master classes. The curator of the children's program MIBF is the Russian State Children's Library.
As part of the partnership with Bologna, the International Conference “Book Without Words” will also be held, dedicated to the rapidly developing Silent Book genre, where illustration is fully responsible for the narrative.
MIBF is one of the largest and oldest book forums in Russia and Eastern Europe where you can meet writers, artists, book publishers, and learn about the latest trends in the world of literature.
