A team of scientists at the Australian Monash University (Monach University) has developed the most efficient lithium-sulfur battery to date, capable of supporting the smartphone for five days. In the version for electric vehicles, it provides almost 1000-kilometer mileage on a single charge.

In addition, the new battery has environmental characteristics that meet the highest international standards, and its production is much cheaper than creating standard models.

The secret of a unique power source is that the researchers managed to convert particle bonds in sulfur cathodes, which allowed them to cope with higher loads without compromising performance and stability.

At this stage, the team is busy launching its product on the market, for which it will be necessary to improve its design. So far, the most serious drawback of the battery is the complexity of its mass production in large volumes. An experimental series of batteries has been manufactured, which will undergo test tests on electric vehicles and mobile networks in Australia at the end of this year.
